10 Halloween tracing worksheets free resources

Tracing helps toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarten students practice their pre-writing skills in addition to building coordination and strength in their hands. This is one of the main reasons why preschool children spend so much time tracing in the classroom. Use our 10 Halloween Tracing Worksheets to practice tracing both pictures and words along the dotted lines. Our free printables will not only help them practice their writing skills, but will also help improve their fine motor skills.

Improve fine motor skills with the Printable Halloween Tracing Pages

Tracing without a doubt improves and strengthens fine motor-skills. Even before children learn how to write, they begin with tracing. Tracing pictures, letters and words helps their brains work with their hands to practice how to hold a writing tool and make shapes and movements with it.

Pass the Worksheets out at a Halloween Party

Do you have a Halloween Party coming up? After your children’s massive sugar intake they may need to focus some of their energy on something else. Print out a bunch of copies of our Halloween worksheets and keep the kids busy with our Halloween Tracing Worksheets.

Fundations Inspired (sky line, plane line, grass line, worm line):

What is Fundations©?

fundations sky line plane line grass line worm line

Fundations teaches spelling, reading and handwriting in a multi-sensory way. The program is designed for students from kindergarten to third grade. It consists of the usage of sky line, plane line, grass line and worm line as fun references for guidance on learning how to write.

An example of this teaching would be:

To write a lowercase letter c: The teacher or student would voice: “Point to the plane line, fly back and come down and around to the grass line,” as the student writes the letter using this method of lines.

To write a lowercase letter i: The teacher or student would voice: “Point to the plane line, go down to the grass line and swoop down to the worm line (for when the y reaches the bottom line),” as the student writes the letter using this method of lines.

To write a lowercase letter d: The teacher or student would voice: “Point to the sky line come down to the grass line, go up to the plane line and back to the grass line,” as the student writes the letter using this method of lines.

As you can see, teaching how to write in this manner is fun, simple, and to the point. My children have learned (and are still in the process of learning) this way and it has been remarkable to witness how quickly and effortlessly they pick things up when it’s described in this type of fun, visual and spoken way.

I am in no way affiliated with the Fundations program nor was I asked to write this bit, I simply recommend Fundations as a fun way to learn spelling, reading and handwriting.
