Ok, I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, my kids love to make things. They are all about anything that involves putting pieces together to create something of their very own. That’s how I started getting into making printable paper toys. Sometimes on rainy or snowy days my kids need extra things to do or they’ll literally run around destroying the house from all that built up energy. And these build-your-own paper toys have always kept their little minds and hands busy. Plus, my 5 year old became a pro at cutting things out with scissors from doing these activities.

Did I mention, my paper crafts are free? Yep, so you won’t break the bank buying craft after craft for your kids. Trust me, those little crafts can add up! So save your money (I’m sure you have other things to spend it on!) and try out these free fun printables.

All about the Build Your Own Sandwich Kit:

With this kit you can build sandwiches or burgers. It comes with bread and rolls to do just that. Specifically it comes with  20 different items to cut out and create your most favorite (and delicious) sandwich. This printable is 10 pages in length and consists of:

  1. Turkey (2 slices)
  2. Ham (2 slices)
  3. Hamburgers (2 patties)
  4. Bacon (4 strips)
  5. Rolls (2)
  6. Bread (2 slices)
  7. Eggs (2)
  8. Avocados (3)
  9. Cheese (2)
  10. Tomatoes (3)
  11. Mushrooms (3)
  12. Lettuce (2)
  13. Red Peppers (2)
  14. Green Peppers (2)
  15. Red Onions (3)
  16. Pickles (4)
  17. Ketchup (3)
  18. Mustard (3)
  19. Mayonnaise (3)
  20. Potato Chip (4)

Also, this is a great activity for the classroom. It comes with so many different sandwich/burger options it’s not necessary to print out a copy for each child. A few will do (depending on the size of the classroom). If you want to prepare the paper craft for them, then cut out all the sandwich pieces, laminate and let them play!

I’m a huge fan of laminating a paper craft like this one. If you laminate this, it will last pretty much forever. Plus, you can wipe it down (get rid of all those germs). And then afterwards just store them in a basket and viola! you have a toy you can use over and over again.

Below is what will be included in your download (see the bottom of the page for actual download instructions):

Format: The Build-Your-Own Sandwich Kit comes in PDF, prints out perfectly on standard letter size paper (8.5″x11″). Plus, this craft is in 300 resolution. What does this mean? It’s high resolution and will print out pixel perfect without any blurriness.

Go ahead and laminate

I recommend laminating all of our Build activities. Laminating gives this craft a bit more permanence. Kids can put the craft together over and over again without worrying about having to cut and color each time. I don’t use anything fancy, just a simple and easy laminator. This is the laminator I use and recommend, you literally just turn it on, it heats up, and you’re ready to start laminating anything everything!

I’m also a big fan of the self-sealing laminating pouches! They are super easy! You literally just place your printable in a letter size pouch, run it through the laminator and you have a sealed and long-lasting item!

Also, if you do choose to laminate, stick little self-adhesive velcro dots on the laminated pieces so your kids can attach and reattach easily. This eliminates the use of any messy glue!

Need some craft supplies?

Amazon has always been my go-to for most of my office and craft supplies. If you print a lot of printables and spend  time coloring, gluing and adding some extra jazz to them, our list of supplies can help!

I’ve split the list up into a basic list and a fancier list if you’re going to put a little more pizazz into your printables.
