My favorite season is here! Any day now the leaves will start to change, the air will turn crisper, and all the fall and Halloween activities, crafts and decorations come out! One of my all time favorite fall staples is the scarecrow. Growing up, I was a scarecrow for Halloween a half dozen times. Every year we also made a scarecrow with old clothes and a bundle of hay and sat him right by our front door. Building a scarecrow was our Halloween family tradition and I love to keep traditions alive.  So, grab your Build a Scarecrow Printable and get started making your own traditions!

All about our Build-a-Scarecrow printable:

Put this silly scarecrow together by coloring and cutting out its arms, legs, body and head. Match up the pieces in your own unique way to create your very own fall scarecrow. And don’t forget to add a crow (a scarecrow needs a crow)!

This build-a-scarecrow kids printable features 2 pages:

• A black & white version (without color). This version can be colored, cut out and put together.
• A colored version. If your child isn’t a fan of coloring or maybe they just want to put the scarecrow together, there is a pre-colored version.

Next, simply cut out the pieces and put the scarecrow printable together with a bit of glue/paste. This makes a nice Halloween (or even Thanksgiving!) decoration. Just color, cut, glue together, and you have yourself a scarecrow! It’s that easy to create this fall craft for kids.

Go ahead and laminate

I recommend laminating all of our Build activities. Laminating gives this craft a bit more permanence. Kids can put the craft together over and over again without worrying about having to cut and color each time. I don’t use anything fancy, just a simple and easy laminator. This is the laminator I use and recommend, you literally just turn it on, it heats up, and you’re ready to start laminating anything everything!

I’m also a big fan of the self-sealing laminating pouches! They are super easy! You literally just place your printable in a letter size pouch, run it through the laminator and you have a sealed and long-lasting item!

Also, if you do choose to laminate, stick little self-adhesive velcro dots on the laminated pieces so your kids can attach and reattach easily. This eliminates the use of any messy glue!
