free printable happy thanksgiving build a turkey

And just like that the holidays are here! I love thanksgiving, as you know I pretty much love all the holidays, but Thanksgiving is wonderful because not only does it send a great message (to give thanks) but it’s the holiday right before Christmas. Which is my ultimate favorite. So to me, Thanksgiving is like the drum roll right before the start of the Christmas season. So, let’s bring on the turkey already!

I don’t know about you but my kids love to just be all up in my business when I’m getting things ready for Thanksgiving. So, I always like to prepare things for them to do, whether it be crafts, coloring or some kind of game. Keeping their minds busy is the key. My kids are builders and like to “create” pretty much anything, so I decided to quickly put together this little turkey guy for my kid’s to put together while I was preparing for the holiday itself.

The kit comes with 13 different turkey parts.

So, all you need to do is download, print, grab scissors and begin! Also, this is a wonderful little craft if you’re trying to teach your kids or students to use scissors.

After your little one is done building his turkey. Grab a glue stick (or some regular old Elmer’s glue) and glue everything down and there’s your turkey!

Have fun and of course, Happy Thanksgiving!

Below is what is included in your Build-a-Turkey download (see the bottom of the page for actual download instructions):

Go ahead and laminate

I recommend laminating all of our Build activities. Laminating gives this craft a bit more permanence. Kids can put the craft together over and over again without worrying about having to cut and color each time. I don’t use anything fancy, just a simple and easy laminator. This is the laminator I use and recommend, you literally just turn it on, it heats up, and you’re ready to start laminating anything everything!

I’m also a big fan of the self-sealing laminating pouches! They are super easy! You literally just place your printable in a letter size pouch, run it through the laminator and you have a sealed and long-lasting item!

Also, if you do choose to laminate, stick little self-adhesive velcro dots on the laminated pieces so your kids can attach and reattach easily. This eliminates the use of any messy glue!

Need some craft supplies?

Amazon has always been my go-to for most of my office and craft supplies. If you print a lot of printables and spend  time coloring, gluing and adding some extra jazz to them, our list of supplies can help!

I’ve split the list up into a basic list and a fancier list if you’re going to put a little more pizazz into your printables.
