build a reindeer christmas printable for kids

Reindeers are the guys that are hauling Santa’s goods across the world. There really isn’t Santa Claus without his reindeer! So, we can’t really do Christmas without them! So, lets get going with the reindeer Christmas activities!

If you’re looking for a Christmas elf activity or just a fun & simple craft to enjoy, our Build-a-Reindeer will surely please. Not only is this activity fun, but it is also educational. It promotes practicing with scissors and creatively using your brain by building and personalizing your very own reindeer!

How to use our Build-a-Reindeer printable:

As always, we have two different versions of the Build-a-Reindeer available: a colored reindeer and a black & white reindeer. So your little one can choose whether or not they want to decorate the reindeer with their own colors and decorations or have the reindeer already colored and ready to cut out.

If you chose the black & white reindeer template, first you will need to color it. Your child or student can get really creative and color it with their favorite colors. Maybe even add some sequins or glitter and make it extra fancy or glittery.

Next, simply cut out the pieces and put the reindeer together with a bit of glue/paste. Or use double-sided tape if you want to avoid glue/paste altogether.

Then put your reindeer on display! Hang your Build-a-Reindeer on the fridge or use it as Christmas decoration. Looking to make a Christmas gift for a loved one? Give them your personalized reindeer to spread some Christmas cheer!

Also, our reindeer template is great for toddlers and preschoolers wanting to practice with scissors or simply to enjoy Christmas festivities. So teachers, put our Build-a-Reindeer activity in your back pocket for a fun Christmas activity for your students.

Go ahead and laminate

I recommend laminating all of our Build activities. Laminating gives this craft a bit more permanence. Kids can put the craft together over and over again without worrying about having to cut and color each time. I don’t use anything fancy, just a simple and easy laminator. This is the laminator I use and recommend, you literally just turn it on, it heats up, and you’re ready to start laminating anything everything!

I’m also a big fan of the self-sealing laminating pouches! They are super easy! You literally just place your printable in a letter size pouch, run it through the laminator and you have a sealed and long-lasting item!

Also, if you do choose to laminate, stick little self-adhesive velcro dots on the laminated pieces so your kids can attach and reattach easily. This eliminates the use of any messy glue!

Need some craft supplies?

Amazon has always been my go-to for most of my office and craft supplies. If you print a lot of printables and spend  time coloring, gluing and adding some extra jazz to them, our list of supplies can help!

I’ve split the list up into a basic list and a fancier list if you’re going to put a little more pizazz into your printables.
