With everything going on in the world, it can be a trying time. With the COVID-19 virus spreading throughout the world, my kids are home from school. This means I’m juggling both work and educating my children.
So, I thought it would be a good idea to remind my children of a few things to do to stay healthy. And bonus!…this also gave them an extra activity to do during this isolation period, where there doesn’t ever seem to be enough or them to do at home.
All about the Healthy Habits Activity
My kids are still little so I directed this healthy habits activity around their age group (toddler, preschool, kindergarten age).
This free healthy craft features 2 pages:
The first page consists of 4 healthy category boxes. These categories are recommended things-to-do to stay healthy.
The second page consists of the healthy habits. Simply cut out the healthy habits and match them up to their correct heathly categories.
You can use a little bit of glue or paste and have them glue the habits to the category squares. Then hang the Healthy Habits sheet on the fridge as a reminder to the whole family on how to stay healthy.
I recommend laminating all of our Build activities. Laminating gives this craft a bit more permanence. Kids can put the craft together over and over again without worrying about having to cut and color each time. I don’t use anything fancy, just a simple and easy laminator. This is the laminator I use and recommend, you literally just turn it on, it heats up, and you’re ready to start laminating anything everything!
Also, if you do choose to laminate, stick little self-adhesive velcro dots on the laminated pieces so your kids can attach and reattach easily. This eliminates the use of any messy glue!

Tips to Stay Healthy*:
During this unbelievably difficult time, let’s all remember to practice healthy habits. Feel free to read the below to your kids after they put together their Healthy Habits matching game.
Eat fruits & veggies.
Eat & drink calcium rich foods like milk, cheese and yogurts.
Eat food high in protein like meat, nuts, eggs and avocados.
Remember to always wash your hands with soap and water for at least 30 seconds.
Take a regular bath/shower, if not daily, every other day or twice a week if they are very little.
Cover your mouth with the inside of your elbow when you cough.
Always use a tissue to wipe your nose.
Exercise Your Body:
Get outside, run and play
Ride your bicycle or scoot around.
Play sports with family member.
Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep.
Exercise Your Mind:
Read, often – books feed the brain!
Play brain puzzles or any game or craft that requires you to use that noggin’.
Do simple science experiments.
