ice cream craft for preschoolers printable

Now who doesn’t like a great ice cream sundae? I feel like there has to be something wrong with the person who turns one down. The cold, creamy ice cream. The sugary, flavorful and endless toppings. Something about eating an ice cream sundae brings me back to my childhood, where at times, the only thing I wanted in the world was a delicious ice cream sundae.

And my kids are exactly the same. It’s the best day in the world for them when we get ice cream. I get constantly asked “what are we doing today?” If any of what I respond with includes “we’ll go grab an ice cream” their day is made. Oh how simple and grand life would be if my day was great due to the sole fact I ate some ice cream!

So, there must be an ice cream craft we can do, right?

All about the ice cream craft:

This make-your-own ice cream craft features everything you need to make an ice cream cone or sundae. Do you like ice cream in a bowl? Or a cone? Perhaps a waffle cone? Yeah, we got it! Then fill your ice cream holder of choice up with your favorite ice cream. Finish it off with your favorite toppings whether it be hot fudge, strawberry syrup or whipped cream! The choices are there for you and your little one! And on top of all this, this printable craft is perfect for kids of all ages…I mean,  when do you grow out of loving ice cream? Even if it’s paper ice cream.

Just simply cut out the cones, ice cream and toppings and put them together to make your very own ice cream. Whether it’s an ice cream cone or a huge ice cream sundae, the choice is yours!

Want to make an ice cream for someone? Grab a glue stick and use a bit of glue to stick the pieces together. Give it as a gift or hang it on the fridge.

Or, cut out the pieces and laminate them for your kids. They can put ice cream together again and again as a craft they can do at any time without any of the work of preparing it.

Print this out for your kids and let them spend hours making ice cream sundaes and cones for all their friends and family. This is also a great craft for the classroom. Celebrate National Ice Cream Day (July 19th) and print this out for your students to make and then finish it off with the real deal (give those kids some ice cream)!

This free printable consists of 8 pages including:

  1. Bowls (2)
  2. Cones (4)
  3. Ice cream (6 flavors) – Chocolate, Vanilla Strawberry, Mint Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip Cooke Dough, Cookes & Cream
  4. Soft serve (4 flavors) – Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Orange
  5. Toppings (11) – Caramel, Strawberry, Butterscotch, Chocolate Syrup, Marshmallow Syrup, Hot Fudge, Fudge & Sprinkles, Sprinkles, Nuts, Whipped Cream (2), and Cherries (4)

Go ahead and laminate

I recommend laminating all of our Build activities. Laminating gives this craft a bit more permanence. Kids can put the craft together over and over again without worrying about having to cut and color each time. I don’t use anything fancy, just a simple and easy laminator. This is the laminator I use and recommend, you literally just turn it on, it heats up, and you’re ready to start laminating anything everything!

I’m also a big fan of the self-sealing laminating pouches! They are super easy! You literally just place your printable in a letter size pouch, run it through the laminator and you have a sealed and long-lasting item!

Also, if you do choose to laminate, stick little self-adhesive velcro dots on the laminated pieces so your kids can attach and reattach easily. This eliminates the use of any messy glue!

Below is what will be included in your download (see the bottom of the page for actual download instructions):

Here is an example or two (or 5) of the type of ice cream your child could create. Just mix and match all the different ice cream flavors and toppings and make a unique ice cream just for you. Cookies & cream any one?

Format: This ice cream printable comes in a PDF format and prints out on 8.5″x11″ standard size letter paper. Making it easy to print on any printer!

Need some craft supplies?

Amazon has always been my go-to for most of my office and craft supplies. If you print a lot of printables and spend  time coloring, gluing and adding some extra jazz to them, our list of supplies can help!

I’ve split the list up into a basic list and a fancier list if you’re going to put a little more pizazz into your printables.
