free printable craft fruit salad

I have found that my children love any craft that involves putting pieces together to make their very own version of something. It could be anything, making a house, a sandwich, their own dinner…anything! As long as the craft includes many pieces of things that result in a master piece built by their very own hands, they are happy campers! My kids have been very into fresh fruit lately (lucky me, since I don’t need to trick them into eating it). They’ve always been pretty good eaters but the other day my 5 year suggested we make a salad for lunch but all out of fruit. I too thought this idea sounded beyond delicious…so, we went at it. After making a drool worthy fruit salad with any fruit we had in the house I thought up an idea to make a craft of that very own idea.

This Make a Fruit Salad craft consists of 8 pages of cut outs, 7 pages of which are different kinds of fruit. You then have your children (or you, if they’re too little to handle scissors) cut out the fruit and they they can build their very own fruit salad. It’s fun to layer the pieces of fruit on the printable bowl. Really any way your kids arrange the fruit pieces will result in a delicious looking fruit salad of their own making. Want to hang it on the fridge? Give your child a glue stick so they can glue the pieces together and viola! fruit salad.

Enjoy this free printable kid craft that promotes healthy eating, scissor practice and working that creative brain!

This printable is a PDF and prints out perfectly on standard size letter paper (8.5″x11″). So, it makes it easy to print anywhere, especially at home.

Go ahead and laminate

I recommend laminating all of our Build activities. Laminating gives this craft a bit more permanence. Kids can put the craft together over and over again without worrying about having to cut and color each time. I don’t use anything fancy, just a simple and easy laminator. This is the laminator I use and recommend, you literally just turn it on, it heats up, and you’re ready to start laminating anything everything!

I’m also a big fan of the self-sealing laminating pouches! They are super easy! You literally just place your printable in a letter size pouch, run it through the laminator and you have a sealed and long-lasting item!

Also, if you do choose to laminate, stick little self-adhesive velcro dots on the laminated pieces so your kids can attach and reattach easily. This eliminates the use of any messy glue!

The Make A Fruit Salad kid activity comes with 1 bowl and 7 pages of fruit to fill your bowl with! Below is what will be included in your download:
