The sun is out, the weather is getting warmer and I don’t know about you but I want to be outside! The parks are opening up across the US and there is nothing better than taking a bike ride or a stroll through the park. I always have a bunch of little kids in tow and I’ve always found it helpful to have an activity in my back pocket. This always helps keep them focused and not in a million different directions wanting to do a dozen different things.
My kids have always enjoyed scavenger hunts so I thought I’d make one up that consisted solely of live creatures. Not only is it fun to be on the lookout for these little critters, but it keeps their brains active and alert. This is a great activity for kids that love being outside and that love little animals or insects.
So print one of these out and get outside for a fun nature activity for kids.
All about the free Creature Scavenger Hunt:
The Creature Scavenger Hunt is a 1-page sheet that consists of 20 outdoor creatures. You can take a walk around your neighborhood in search of these little creatures or go to a park and make it an all day hunt!
Below is what will be included in your download (see the bottom of the page for actual download instructions):
Format: This printable comes in a PDF format and comes in two different sizes. Making it easy to print on any printer!
- Standard US letter paper: 8.5 x 11 inches
- A4 paper: 8.27 × 11.69 inches
Go ahead and laminate
I recommend laminating our scavenger hunts. Why? Laminating gives the scavenger hunts a bit more permanence. You can also use dry erase markers to cross off the items you find during your hunt! So, when you’re done hunting you can easily wipe off and use the scavenger hunt sheet over and over again without reprinting.
I don’t use anything fancy or complex, just a simple and easy laminator. This is the laminator I use and recommend.
This is for personal use only. Please do not redistribute it or repost as your own. Thanks and enjoy!
