There are many occasions that call for making your own bat. Our bat printable makes it easy to color, cut and create your own personalized paper bat. It’s an easy Halloween craft that doesn’t require too much guidance or preparation. Just print and hand out!

1. Use the bat printable as a preschool or kindergarten Halloween activity
I’d say this is my number 1 use for this activity if you have young children or students. Our bat printable is versatile and can be enjoyed by various ages, but the preschool, kindergarteners and first grade students are sure to love this cute little bat. The lines and curves of the animal aren’t too complex and make it a simple bat craft for even the little ones!

2. Use the bat printable as a fun hand-out at a Halloween party
Having a school Halloween party? Stay in theme and print our bat printable for the kids to color, cut and create. Keep the kids occupied and having fun with this holiday printable!
3. Use the free bat templates to make Halloween decorations
Looking for a bit more Halloween decor? Print out a few copies of our bat templates and start coloring and creating bats to hang around your home or classroom.
Print out on heavier card stock paper and use a hole punch to punch a hole on the top or back of the bat. Tie a piece of string and hat a bat or two from the ceiling. Or just use masking tape to tape to the walls!

Make the bat craft and decoration last longer and laminate the bat printable! Laminating is super easy and literally takes a minute to do. Simply heat up your laminator, insert the bat printable in a laminating sleeve and run it through the laminator. In about 20 seconds you’ll have a long-lasting decoration.
Cut out and glue the pieces together or use velcro dots to connect the bat parts.
Hang them on the fridge, around the house or use them to make a big banner.

1. Black & white Build a Bat
This version doesn’t include any color (blank) and is normally used if children want to color the bat as well as put it together. Grab some crayons, glue stick and scissors and get started! Don’t forget to color the bat’s googly eyes. Did you know some bats have yellow or red eyes?
2. Build a Bat in Color
This version is a pre-colored version, so no coloring is needed. Just cut out and put the bat together.
3. Bat Coloring Page

Things you need for the bat cut out template:
- The bat printable (fill out the form below and instantly get emailed your free bat pritnable & templates). Print out as many copies as you’d like.
- Anything to color with (if you’re using any of the black & white versions). I suggest crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
- A pair of rounded scissors. Have your child or student practice cutting with a pair of safe scissors.
- Glue, paste or a glue-stick to secure the bat parts together.
- Masking tape is always a great option if you don’t want to deal with messy glue.
- If you’re laminating you’ll need
- Laminator
- Laminating sleeve/pouch
- Velcro dots to secure the bat pieces (these allow you to re-build your bat again and again with the messy glue).
