What is a cornucopia?

A cornucopia is a symbol of abundance or overflowing supply. It literally means “horn of plenty” in Greek. The cornucopia is supposed to represent a horn of a goat (even though it’s usually represented as a basket). The horn or basket is filled with fruits, vegetables, meats, grains, flowers, leaves and nuts.

Why is the cornucopia a symbol of Thanksgiving? This overflowing supply of food relates to Thanksgiving as showing the celebration of an abundant harvest. A harvest to be thankful and celebrated.
