It always feels good when someone gives you a compliment or even some motivational words of wisdom. Now more than ever it’s important for kids to get that same uplifting communication. One of the best and most popular kids projects that came about in the last couple years has been the Kindness Rocks project, or what I like to call the Random Rocks of Kindness project.
What is this project about? People paint motivational or uplifting messages on the rocks and hide them for random people to find. Not only does it feel good for this person to find the rock and receive a kind message but finding one in itself is like finding a little treasure. This type of kindness act is a fun and wonderful thing for growing and developing minds. So, I decided to turn this art project into a coloring activity.
Color and cut out your favorite rocks and hide them in your classroom for another student, friend or teacher to find. Or try it at home. Want to leave a happy message to your sister? Color and cut a Kindness Rock and leave it for her to find.
When using and painting real rocks, Kindness Rocks are usually hidden outside for people to find, but because our Kindness Rock project is printed on paper, if we left our paper rocks outside, not only will they be ruined from the nature elements, but it could be considered littering if left in the wrong spot. So, let’s keep this art project inside. Hide the paper Kindness Rocks in your school or at home. Or even leave one in a car or put one in a lunch box for a loved one.
Go ahead and laminate
I’m a big fan of laminating. Why? Laminating the Kindness Rocks gives these a bit more permanence. Color, cut and laminate and turn these acts of kindness into long-lasting feel good tokens.
I don’t use anything fancy or complex, just a simple and easy laminator. This is the laminator I use and recommend.
Below is what is included in your Random Rocks of Kindness download (see the bottom of the page for actual download instructions):

Mrs. Merry!
Love everything. I get the emails. Do I have to sign up every single time to print?
Hi there! Currently there is no way to access all the printables at once. Having a form to fill out for each printable allows us to see which printables are doing well or not. It allows us to measure the success of each so we make sure to keep delivering quality items. :) Thanks for visiting! Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
