Cursive B Handwriting Lessons
The letter B is a unique letter to write in cursive. I noticed when doing a bit of cursive handwriting research there wasn’t a cursive or handwriting font that displayed the lowercase cursive b correctly. Because of this. I decided to write my own lowercase cursive B using my pen tool. I did this to assure the lowercase b was being displayed on my worksheets (in my opinion) the correct way.
Lower case cursive B.
The cursive lowercase b should be written in the below fashion:
- Begin at the bottom line and swoop up to the top line.
- Loop at the top and go back to the bottom line (it will almost look like a lower case l).
- At the bottom of the line, come back up to the middle line and over to the right.
Uppercase cursive B
The upper case cursive B is one of the easiest letters to write, simply because it’s so similar to the printed capital B. To begin the uppercase cursive B:
- Start at the top line and draw down to the bottom line.
- Go back up the same line, and draw a curved line out toward the right to hit in the middle
- Swoop at the middle and back out to make a second curve.
- At the end of the last curve, draw a straight horizontal line toward the right.
Cursive writing usually begins in third grade, but some of these letters are simple enough to learn as young as kindergarten. Print and prepare your students for B cursive writing!
